Course of the course:
Every disease has one or more causes. It is therefore very important to discover them first so that the disease can be resolved. In Ayurveda, the imbalance of the three vital energies (Tri Dosha) is described as the cause of diseases, e.g. through unhealthy diet, poor digestion, insufficient sleep, stress, environmental pollution and an accumulation of toxins and waste products (Ama) in the body. That is why the Amandro starts with a detailed initial medical consultation. This results in the course of your Ayurveda cure, which usually leads through three processes:
1. Purvakarma (pre-treatment) - In this phase the toxins are eliminated from the body and transported to places from where they can be excreted through the natural body orifices during the cleansing process. This stage includes snehanam (internal oleation). With steam and massages, special oils are brought into the body and the toxins bound in this way are expelled. It is important that this process is carried out completely. If the cleaning process is interrupted and thus not completed, toxins remain in the body and the chance to get rid of them is wasted.
2. Pradhanakarma (main treatment) - In this phase the toxic substances are eliminated via Vasti, Virechena, Nasya and Vamana. Some of these treatments require dietary restrictions on appropriate days in order for the cleansing to be a complete success.
3. Pashtatakarma (follow-up and final treatment) - In this phase dietary nutritional adjustments are made, further regeneration therapies are carried out and medication to support the healing process is given.
If a person with a runny nose and nasal congestion would come for treatment: the preparatory process is an oil head massage and inhalation, the main process is a nose oil cleanse (nasya), the follow-up treatment is plenty of rest, drinking warm water or herbal tea, lying in the sun and, if possible, cold ones Avoid meals and drinks.
We look after you from arrival to departure in order to bring the imbalance of the three vital energies (Tri Dosha) back into balance. The whole process takes about two to three weeks.
Guests who are unable to stay this length will receive a treatment plan from our doctors that includes the most important cleansing therapies for the needs of your body in order to achieve the best possible result during your stay.
Important notes on treatment:
The descriptions of the spa always place a lot of emphasis on treatment times and treatments per day. This sometimes leads to misunderstandings.
The medicine used at Amandro Resort is made from herbs and natural ingredients. Some of the medicine is produced directly in the resort, some comes from a laboratory certified by the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Authority.
We harvest the medicinal plants that are needed for the Ayurveda Pancha Karma cures from our own organic herb garden. The high quality is clearly evident in the treatments.
All medication required for the cure, such as herbal syrups, pastes, pills, balms and herbal creams are included in the price of the cure. Medicine that is also used, for example, for chronic illnesses, if necessary, should also be taken home after the cure, will be billed separately.
In addition to the therapeutic aspects, nutrition plays a major role in Ayurveda in order to bring the three vital energies (Tri Dosha) back into balance. Therefore, after the initial medical consultation, you will receive an individual nutrition plan, which will be updated during your stay during the subsequent consultations to improve your state of health.
We serve fresh vegetables, fruits and also fish. There is a wide range of delicacies such as: B. freshly prepared red rice every day, various side dishes made from fresh vegetables as well as curries and salads.
We do not serve meat or alcohol.
The food that we do not produce ourselves is bought fresh every day at the vegetable, fruit and fish market.
In Ayurveda, foods are divided into six flavors (sweet, sour, salty, hot, bitter and tart). There are also various “sub-tastes”. Taste coupled with the characteristic properties of the food: Guna (property), Virya (effectiveness), Vipaka (digestion) and Prabhava (special properties) must be tailored to your health needs. Taking these aspects into account, dishes are created in our kitchen every day, which are culinary balanced and excellent in taste, but which above all aim to give you strength and energy for your recovery!
During an ayurvedic or diet therapy, the dishes are tailored to your personal needs, including vegan, if desired, and individually prepared. On the one hand, you get to know the specialties of Ayurveda cuisine while at the same time ensuring that your personal needs are met.
Because Sri Lanka has many native fruits, you have the chance to try different seasonal fruits - which can be a very unique and enjoyable experience. The fruits are unsprayed and are brought from our own cultivation at the house or locally known fruit farmers.
"Stretch so far you can"
Yoga is an effective support for Ayurveda treatments
At Amandro we practice traditional Hatha Yoga (postures) together with Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Sun salution - Surya Namaskar (sun salutation).
The yoga teacher introduces around 10-15 different asanas. Depending on which participants are present, this is adjusted according to talent and flexibility and can therefore be less or more. The yoga class ends with a relaxation exercise (Adriene). The yoga hall is on the first floor above the restaurant with a view of the river.
We have two highly qualified yoga teachers who teach alternately during your course. According to our Ayurveda program there is yoga 4 days a week. Since most of our guests preferred the afternoon, the hours take place around sunset. At sunrise we will take you to the beach to go jogging or walking. After consultation with our doctor, you can also take a morning swim in the sea. This gives you joy, courage and energy for the whole day. Alternatively, we can arrange yoga classes in the morning at sunrise. On request, there is also the possibility of organizing yoga lessons for beginners, advanced learners and courses for special yoga directions and styles so that you can practice poses and exercises of your choice. These individual or group lessons can be booked and cost between 10 and 15 euros, depending on the number of people. Just talk to us.
It is recommended that you wear light, comfortable clothing so that you can move and stretch well. Use mosquito repellent in the evening.
The booking of stay at the Amandro Resort is made through direct contact with us.
